Meet Your Presidential Candidate

Hello, Thunderbirds! You can find my platform and campaign video here .

I've been a part of Leadership for two years now, and to be honest I can't imagine it any other way.

In December of my first year on Leadership, I remember turning to a fellow sophomore senator and saying, "Senie, I know when I ran for senator I told my parents that I wouldn't do Leadership for the rest of high school. But after homecoming and everything, I can't imagine not being on Leadership. Do you know what I mean?" She replied with an understanding "yes," and since then I've never wanted to part from ASB.

My experience on Leadership makes me qualified to become president because it takes a lot of knowledge about the power and limitations of being on ASB to make things happen. It also takes initiative for anything to happen. This is why I can assure you that my promises aren't empty.

In fact, my promises are far beyond empty! My efforts are already making an impact on Shorewood. In November, I was awarded Leadership Student of the Month by Wilfred and Andy for my dedication to increasing student participation during the months of September and October. It meant a lot to me that my efforts made a difference - because you know, it's not about making change. It's about making a difference. Wilfred and Andy brought the change to Shorewood this year, and my mission is to make up the difference and complete their mission.

Being an effective president isn't entirely about experience, though. It's also about devotion to our school and its students. Taking the time outside of 2nd period Leadership to make a difference is something I find essential to being an effective ASB President. Lunch duty is only one example of many. It's an opportunity all Leadership kids are given, and it is the time put into it with the right attitude that shows through. Last but definitely not least, there's also taking the time to get to know the students. I try to meet and talk with a wide range of student because I love getting to know people. I also love it when people smile and laugh, and that just might be the difference you were looking for between me and the other presidential candidates.
.. Just kidding. :)

It's up to you, Shorewood! Who has your vote?
